Answers:
Who is the InterNIC?
The InterNIC is an independent organization responsible for holding the registration and routing of Internet domain names. They will reserve the name that you choose to you so that nobody else will be permitted to use that name. The current registration fee is $70 per 2 year period. The InterNIC will send you an invoice seperately.

Can I access my domain with or without the "www"?
Yes.

Do you offer dial-up Internet access?
No, we provide remote hosting services on our servers in which you will need a standard connection to the Internet. You can connect to our servers using FTP, TELNET and other gateways to interface with your account, but you will still require a connection to the Internet.

Do you handle the domain registration process?
Yes. We will contact the InterNIC once your account is activated to request either a new domain name registration or a domain name transfer.

Can I transfer an existing domain name to your servers?
Yes, just be sure to specify that you are requesting a transfer and not a new domain. When InterNIC announces the completion of the transfer there is a 72 hour propagation period where visitors could go to either site. There are no transfer fees or hidden charges for domain transfers.

How long does it take before my domain name is active?
Once the InterNIC announces that your domain name has been registered (or transferred), it usually takes about 72-hours before it is active.

How do I transfer files to my web site?
Files must be transferred to the web server via File Transport Protocol (FTP) or Telnet. If you need FTP, telnet, mail, or other Internet software, visit Download.com. Download.com is a source for the latest Internet applications with ratings and reviews to help you decide which application is best suited for your needs. We recommend WS_FTP due to its simplicity and the flexibility it offers.

How long does it take to set up a new account?
New accounts are generally set up within 24 hours from the time we receive your order. An email will be sent to you including your UserID/Password and other relevant information. You can begin publishing content to your new web site immediately, however it may take up to 72 hours until your domain name is reflected live (InterNIC must send out updates).

Can I subdivide my space and resell it?
Yes, we do allow you to create subdirectories which you can use to offer friends or clients space so long as all our policies are followed.

Can I have additional domains pointing to my main account?
Yes, a one-time charge of $30.00 applies, the charge can be applied towards the setup of a new account. This is an economical solution to obtaining a domain now and then develop the website later.

Is there any charge for upgrading to a different package?
The client need only pay the difference in setup and monthly fees.

How often do you backup the data on the servers?
Daily, during twilight hours (3-4AM)

What is the difference between an "e-mail alias" and a POP account?
A POP account is where email is stored until you retrieve it. An email alias is a forwarding account which will forward all incoming emails to a POP account. Email aliases do not store email, rather only forward emails to a POP account. The most advantageous option of using email aliasing is that if you ever change providers or accounts, you will still receive all emails without interuption in service since your alias will just keep changing to route to the correct POP account.

What type of hardware and software do we use?
We use SGI and Pentium servers, powered by Linux and running Apache web server. Our Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Servers are using Apache Strong Hold.

Can I run my own CGI scripts?
Yes. You have full access to your own CGI directory. We also pre-install a dozen scripts for common tasks.

Will I have access to the server's log files?
Yes. You have your own access log files that are maintained on our servers in an easy to read graphical format which are compiled daily.

What is your "spamming" policy?
The sending of unsolicited e-mail is strictly prohibited on our servers. Most Internet users view spamming as an unprofessional form of marketing.
